Into the Light, an original production blending classical music, memoir, and education. This performance addresses the dissonance between a compassionate community and the lack of public response in the face of sexual assault.  
Nina Powers is a musician and speaker who shares her story describing her recovery from childhood sexual abuse.  A professional violinist, and music director who has worked as a high school teacher for 12 years, she is passionate about sharing with students a roadmap to finding hope and wellness after sexual assault.
Into the Light is a production in concert format featuring live piano trio, guest speaker, and original letters surrounding the topic of wellness after sexual assault.  This presentation is approximately 30 minutes with time for questions following.  There is no graphic content.  It is appropriate for all high school students and recommended for upper classmen.  There is no charge to the school for this performance.
